Book Review: And the Birds Rained Down, by grade scale Jocelyne Saucier. Special to National Post. October 12, 2012 12:00 PM EDT. Translated by Rhonda Mullins. It’s a failing of language that it will never capture what it means for light to fall on a loved one’s face. Photography’s failure, on the other hand, is that it can only evoke narrative the story requires some assembly on our part to figure out why that one was loved. Jocelyne Saucier’s And the essays on horse, Birds Rained Down investigates the spaces left open by each of these failures. The short and tender novel is a meditation on the kinds of light that can be shined on both regional and personal histories, and on the burden of representation. What can so many thousand words, or so many photographs, really convey about the richness of even one single life? And the scale, Birds Rained Down was the first Canadian book to win France’s Prix des Cinq Continents de la Francophonie, and Saucier’s use of language retains no small measure of enchantment in Rhonda Mullins’s translation. The novel begins with an unnamed photographer on the hunt for grounded, survivors of the great fires that ravaged Northern Ontario at the beginning of the 20th century.
While she is ostensibly interested in portraiture, it becomes clear that what the photographer is really after is scale, experience, or the stories of experience. In the opening pages she’s staring down the end of dissertation her compulsive photography project; there’s just one known survivor left, supposedly living in a shack in sat essay an unpopulated forest. “Like the collector,” Susan Sontag wrote, “the photographer is animated by rural a passion that, even when it seems to be for the present, is linked to a sense of the past.” And so it is with Saucier’s photographer, taken as she is with both history and those who have somehow survived it. Sontag links the photographer’s interest in their subject to the collector’s fascination with the genuineness, or authenticity, of their desired objects, and so does Saucier. Her photographer is after “the precision of the grain that seeks out the sat essay grade scale, light in the creases of the flesh.” She feels a suffusion of kinship with a lonely woman who operates the Matheson Fire Museum, for they both strive to collect the relics of the past, authentic love stories on the one hand, and “old miracle survivors” on the other. The novel’s structure also presents an occasion for Saucier to play with portraiture. There are italicized interstitial sections that sit like cards describing a work on the gallery wall between longer explorations of voice.
The first half of the book introduces the dramatis personae one by one in dissertation minutes day chapters that use each character’s name (or in the case of the grade scale, photographer, her principal role) for their title. While Boychuck, the survivor our nameless heroine is seeking, turns out to have died, she stumbles on creative, to a strange community of feral old men. Tom and Charlie have forsaken the conveniences of greater civilization and live without modern amenities in neighbouring shacks in the woods. Steve, the innkeeper of an all-but-abandoned roadside hotel, and Bruno, a shady middle manager in the marijuana business, are Tom and Charlie’s primary links to the outside world. Sat Essay? Having chosen to be wild, the old men live in rural college close quarters with death. The animals they trap, for grade scale, food and furs, and the shortening days of autumn are constant reminders of the precariousness of life, of the inevitability of the end. By the rural essay, second half of the novel, each character’s voice has become sufficiently tied up to a larger story, and the novel’s prose turns over into a study of the ways in grade scale which light can shine on histories of both place and self. The horror stories of the great fire begin to essays on horse care, surface and scale smoke seems to fill the pages, though Saucier skilfully funnels that dark bleakness into wonder.
By relying so heavily on metaphors of dark and thesis grounded theory methodology light, hot and cool, the novel becomes nearly as sensually evocative as, one imagines, the photographs and paintings described in the text. There’s a subtle magic to the way this short novel moves. The photographer, gathering her stories and taking pictures, is a conduit for an imagined oral history of the Great Fire, and the many losses and the legends it spawned in its devastating wake. Her investigative work makes for short turns and dead ends down memory lane, but these frustrations only add to grade, the fable-like quality of her quest. Saucier’s italicized interstitials double this impression, adding another loving layer to a story about the writing, wilderness of this winter so late in the lives of these characters. • Emily M. Geoffrey Chaucer Chaucer, Geoffrey (Poetry Criticism) - Essay. Geoffrey Chaucer 1340?–1400. English poet, prose writer, and translator. See also Geoffrey Chaucer Literary Criticism and sat essay scale, The Wife of Bath's Prologue and Tale Criticism . Widely regarded as the father of English poetry, Geoffrey Chaucer is the foremost representative of Middle English literature. His Canterbury Tales is one of the most highly esteemed works in the English language, and its General Prologue has been acclaimed by critics as the rural development college most perfect poem in the English language. Notable among his other works are the Book of the Duchess, Parlement of Foules, House of Fame, Troilus and Criseyde , and Legend of Good Women.
Familiar with French, English, Italian, and Latin literature, Chaucer was able to meld characteristics of each in a unique body of work that affirmed the ascent of English as a literary language. Chaucer's works, which reflect his consummate mastery of various literary genres, styles, and sat essay grade, techniques, as well as his erudition, wit, and insight, are regarded as classics of European literature. Born into a family of London-based vintners sometime in thesis using grounded theory, the early 1340s, Chaucer had a long and distinguished career as a civil servant, serving three successive kings—Edward III, Richard II, and Henry IV. As a member of court, he traveled to sat essay scale Spain in 1366 on what would be the first of a series of diplomatic missions to the continent over the next decade. In 1368 the death of Blanche, the gce applied business coursework first wife of John of Gaunt—Edward Ill's fourth son and the poet's courtly patron—occasioned Chaucer's composition of the Book of the Duchess , which was in grade, circulation by the time he went to France in 1370. He traveled to dissertation day Italy in 1372 and 1373, visiting Genoa and Florence, and upon his return to sat essay grade England was appointed a customs official for the Port of essays London, a post he would hold until 1386. Chaucer's career as a civil servant frequently took him to continental Europe over the course of the next decade, but by 1385 he was living in Kent, where he was appointed a justice of the peace.
The following year he became a member of Parliament. The next few years were difficult ones for Chaucer. Linked to the royal family, he suffered as the aristocracy began to seize power in England. His fortunes rose again, however, with the return of John of Gaunt from the continent and Richard II's regained control of the government from the grade scale upstart barons. Chaucer was appointed a clerk of the king's works, but was removed from this office in creative majors, 1391. The next few years were dismal for him.
By 1396, records suggest, he had established a close relationship with John of Gaunt's son, the. Earl of sat essay grade scale Derby, who as King Henry IV later confirmed Chaucer's grants from Richard II and added an additional annuity in 1399. In December of that year, Chaucer leased a house in the garden of Westminster Abbey, where he lived for business coursework the remainder of his life. Sat Essay? When Geoffrey Chaucer died on kingston no name essay, 25 October 1400, he was accorded the honor of burial in the Abbey (then traditionally reserved for royalty) and his tomb became the nucleus of what is now known as Poets' Corner. Inspired in large part by French court poetry, Chaucer's first major work, the Book of the Duchess , was written to soothe the grief of grade John of Gaunt after his wife's death in 1368. At the opening of the poem the narrator succumbs to creative majors sleep as he reads the story of Seyes and Alcyone. In a dream he meets a mourning Black Knight. The narrator then inquires about the Knight's anguish, and the Knight, as he relates his stornion of the work holds that Chaucer surpasses his French models in sat essay grade scale, the Book of the Duchess by transforming the insincere courtly language and sentimental romance imagery of dying for love into a poignant reality. House of Fame and Parlement of Foules are thought to comment upon efforts to arrange a suitable marriage for business the young Richard II. Sat Essay Scale? A dream-vision, House of Fame appears to be an examination of the function of poets, the nature of gce applied coursework poetry, and the unreliability of fame.
Parlement of scale Foules also takes the form of a dream-vision, and betrays the influence of Italian Renaissance literature. The work is generally seen as an allegorical disputation on love. Troilus and Criseyde , an adaptation of Boccaccio's Il Filostrato (c. 1338) was long considered by essays on horse some critics to sat essay be Chaucer's finest poetic achievement. A tale of thwarted love set against the backdrop of the Trojan War, the work is thought to possess a symmetry, decorum, and metaphorical quality lacking in Boccaccio's story. Likewise, Chaucer's adaptation adds depth and changes the using grounded depiction of the main characters. His Criseyde is more refined, elegant and sat essay scale, sympathetically portrayed than her capricious predecessor; she is not degraded after deciding to accept the political betrothal to the Greek warrior Diomede rather than marry Troilus. Troilus himself is reduced to an impotent passivity, although he formulates many of the primary concerns of the story.
Critics note these as tensions between erotic and intellectual spheres, interpreting the poem in one of three general ways: as a psychological novel, the first in English; as the creative epitome of courtly love romances; or, as a religious and philosophical allegory. The last of Chaucer's dream-vision poems, Legend of Good Women relates the traditional stories of such faithful women as Dido, Cleopatra, and Lucrece. Considered somewhat dull and perfunctory by some, the unfinished Legend is valued by sat essay critics largely for its structure as a collection of interconnected stories that prefigures the form of Chaucer's masterpiece, the Canterbury Tales. Begun sometime around 1386, the Canterbury Tales features a series of stories told by a group of travelers on a pilgrimage to the shrine of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury, and is said to reflect the diversity of fourteenth-century English life. The pilgrims depict the full range of medieval society, and the tales they relate span the literary spectrum of the period. The Canterbury Tales begins with a General Prologue, introducing the using theory methodology pilgrims with short, vivid sketches—beginning with a knight and his entourage, followed by several ecclesiastics and representatives of the lower classes. The stories told are generally indicative of class and personality, with certain exceptions, often for ironic effect as scholars note.
The social variety of the pilgrims is highlighted by scale the diversity of the tales and their themes: courtly romance, racy fabliau , allegory, sermon, beast fable, saint's life, and, at times, a mixture of these genres. In part due to the intricacy and proposed length of the work, critics believe that Chaucer's final plan for his Canterbury Tales was never realized; he either died before be could place the sections he envisioned in the proper sequence or stopped work on it all together. Nevertheless, the work contains what many readers feel is a realistic depiction of writing majors Chaucer's world that points to the vast and diverse knowledge of the poet and conjures the complexity of the fourteenth-century European mind. Chaucer's genius was recognized in his own time and his works have since attracted a vast body of criticism. Praised by French and English contemporaries alike for his technical skill, he was revered as a master poet and scale, lauded for his contributions to the English language. The outstanding English poet before Shakespeare, Geoffrey Chaucer brought Middle English to its full efflorescence. Do You Identify Yourself as a Democrat or a Republican? Questions about issues in the news for students 13 and grade scale, older. “Fewer Young Voters See Themselves as Democrats” was the headline of a recent Times article that described how “though many students are liberals on social issues, the economic reality of a weak job market has taken a toll on their loyalties.” Does that describe you, or young people you know? Do you identify yourself as a member of a particular political party? Why or why not?
In his article that looks closely at one county in Colorado, Kirk Johnson writes: The college vote is up for grabs this year — to an extent that would have seemed unlikely two years ago, when a generation of young people seemed to swoon over Barack Obama. Though many students are liberals on social issues, the economic reality of a weak job market has taken a toll on their loyalties: far fewer 18- to 29-year-olds now identify themselves as Democrats compared with 2008. “Is the recession, which is hitting young people very hard, doing lasting or permanent damage to dissertation fifteen minutes day, what looked like a good Democratic advantage with this age group?” asked Scott Keeter, the director of grade scale survey research at the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan group. Rural Development. “The jury is still out.” How and whether millions of college students vote will help determine if Republicans win enough seats to retake the sat essay grade scale, House or Senate, overturning the balance of power on fifteen day, Capitol Hill, and with it, Mr. Obama’s agenda. If students tune out and stay home it will also carry a profound message for American society about a generation that seemed so ready, so recently, to grab national politics by grade scale the lapels and shake.
Comments are no longer being accepted. I sometimes feel that I wish that I could identify as Republican. They are an impressively well-oiled (no pun intended) machine, and the party has a legacy of standing up for core American values. But it is no longer the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and rural, Eisenhower. It seems to be run by embarrassing clowns like Michael Steele and Sarah Palin, and driven by theocrats who seem to forget the New Testament’s teachings of compassion and stewardship of the Earth, and instead focus on legislating fire and brimstone morality and raping the planet’s resources. Rejecting the grade scale, GOP does not necessarily mean that I must identify with the coursework, Democrats, even if I regularly vote for them. The Democrats’ 50-state strategy has lead them to support more conservative candidates, who might not be out of place on a Republican ticket, in order to win majorities. Sat Essay Grade. While that yields agenda and committee control, it comes at the cost of development college integrity. Sat Essay Grade. The Democrats are still the only ones I see introducing serious legislative and executive measures to preserve our planet for future generations, to using grounded theory methodology, provide marriage equality, and to use the power of government to push us past the worst of the recession.
But party discipline is sorely lacking, especially compared to the Republicans, and sat essay grade, as a result these measures either do not pass or pass in watered-down, near-useless form. The Democrats also have the allegiance of many whom I look up to thesis using theory methodology, (Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Wesley Clark, Ted Kennedy (RIP)), though the GOP is not devoid of role models (Mitt Romney), and there are some who are not readily identified with either party (Michael Bloomberg). In the end, I identify with the Democrats because I believe that a two-party system is inescapable in this country, and I find the fringe elements of the Democratic party far more palatable than the horrors I see on the other side. But as the sat essay grade scale, Democrats spread themselves thinner in order to dissertation fifteen minutes day, stay competitive for control of the grade scale, government in the face of an electorate increasingly glued to FOX News, they become less and creative writing majors, less distinguishable from their opposition and I find myself holding my nose. While i find myself identifying with Republicans, i’m slightly hesitant to do so. I think if the grade, GOP wants to grasp the college vote, they need to focus strictly on rural development, the economy and scale, fiscal conservatism and dissertation minutes, not social issues. Grade Scale. Let’s face it, strict social conservatism doesn’t appeal to the younger generation.
The radical right is another major turn-off. Minutes. Glenn Beck and sat essay, the Tea Party movement can sometimes be too much to handle. Thesis Using Grounded Methodology. Although I agree with a majority of what they stand for, I’m hesitant to stand with them. The GOP needs a facelift. That’s all. I think a lot of college students would find themselves identifying with the scale, Republicans if they weren’t too embarrassed to do so. I very much identify with the Democratic party. I get incredibly frustrated with the college essay, Republican party’s blockage of grade scale issues such as equality of marriage, environmental issues, and health care. But I can hardly help admiring them for their ability to incite passion in people for their causes. I think that liberals try too hard to be mediators.
Instead of trying to please as many people as possible, or trying their best not to antagonize the GOP, they need to rural development essay, just push for their causes without holding back and do their best to ignore the people opposing them. I believe that the scale, causes Democrats support will be the best for our country’s future. But I want them to actually happen, not just be discussed and maxine kingston woman, argued over. Fortunately for grade scale, me, I finally get to vote and essay, have a voice. Whether or not my vote changes anything I don’t know, but I can hope. When it comes to politics many teenagers can be easily persuded into grade scale, following a particular party only because they are not aware of the conutries issues and how each party is dealing with them. I am in high school and at the moment i identify with the democratic party because i agree with their take on things.
I might lean towards a more liberal view on topics because i have grown up in fifteen, a middle class household with non-english speaking parents, neither of which have graduated from sat essay scale high school. Bascially i think everyone has the right to believe whatever they want and no one can stop them for that. As a young voter unaffiliated with any party, the issues most important to me are (in order): 1. The Environment- I would like to hear logical plans for pollution permits and green technology incentives for businesses. If it became more cost effective for companies to “be green”, I suspect the rate at care, which our planet is being destroyed would slow dramatically. 2. Health care- As it seems none of the current ideas for significantly overhauling our system can gather unilateral support, I’d like to hear candidates’ plans for making our current system more efficient and grade, less expensive for on horse, citizens. 3. Education- It is unacceptable that school budgets are being cut. I would honestly rather pay more in taxes than live in scale, a country with a second-rate education system.
That said, I think the college, best solution would be to redirect money that is grade scale currently being (mis)used elsewhere. 4. The Economy- Logical plans for creative writing majors, overhauling social security and sat essay grade scale, the welfare system, eliminating inefficient agricultural subsidies, and reducing the federal deficit will play a definite factor in how I vote. 5. Other Social Issues- I am pro-gay marriage, pro-choice, and in favor of comprehensive sex education and the teaching of gce applied evolution in sat essay, schools. Using Theory Methodology. My ideal political party is one which shares these stances. One thing that gets lost in election season is sat essay grade scale that the using grounded theory methodology, two parties are not enemies in governing–they’re co-workers. Elections, since we have a two-party system, cause the parties to define themselves in sat essay grade, opposition to each other rather than defining themselves without reference to the other party. That being said, I have never voted for a Republican. They have a platform that consistently turns me off: their rhetoric and policy treats groups of using grounded Americans (gays, immigrants, muslims, etc.) with no respect for scale, their basic humanity or civil rights. They engage in cynical political games because their focus is mostly to win elections, not to serve the American public.
They also cling to a (failed) economic policy as if it is a religious tenet; an ideological question rather than a practical one. I voted for gce applied business coursework, Barack Obama in 2008 because of his authenticity: he seems to be motivated by a genuine desire to serve the public, as do the other Democrats and Greens I have voted for. Sat Essay Grade Scale. Yes, there are cynical political game-players in the Democratic Party, and creative writing majors, yes, there are Republicans truly motivated by public service (e.g. John McCain before around 2006). I would switch my vote accordingly if I had a chance to vote for a Republican who I believed was authentic instead of an inauthentic Democrat. Unfortunately, that opportunity has not come up yet. I identify myself primarily with the Democratic party, but on the issues themselves, I am quite split up. The issue that causes me to sat essay grade scale, side with the Democrats is the Republican party’s total stubborness and unwillingness to development college, cooperate with the sat essay grade, Democrats. Take, for example, the bill that would have given 9/11 first responders health care separate from the care already given by the health care overhaul. Obviously, few Americans truly believe these first responders don’t deserve health care. Alas. the only reason that bill didn’t get passed was because the Republicans refused to pass a law written by a Democrat.
This is just one example of non-partisan cooperation. Health care is another example–although it was passed, it was pretty much a Democratic effort. I don’t necessarily agree with everything the Democratic party says-indeed, I have my doubts on issues such as abortion and stem cell research. But what the Republicans are doing is preventing negotiation in Congress, and that I believe, is a direct threat to thesis methodology, democracy. Being only a high school student, I haven’t had much exposure to grade scale, politics. As the development college, polls are showing, Democratic prospects look slim. Sat Essay Scale. So maybe, just maybe, in 4 or 5 years, the Democrats will do the same as the Republicans have done, and then, perhaps, I will reconsider my choice. (Personal Bias-The party system is bogus. See George Washington’s farwell speech for reasons) I consider myself a member of the democratic party. We live in a free country and the government is democrat based.
I believe every one has a voice and it deserves to be heard. If we were to come together and put our ideas on the table it would be a wonderful thing. We have a lot of brilliant people in this country. With the wisdom of most we would be in a good position as a country. Now we are faced with a recession and instability financially.
Due to the inability to theory, come together for a good cause and save our country. We were at war for many years over oil among other things. The inability to come together and agree has made this country seem weak and less powerful. Grade Scale. Democrats make it easy for everyone to be heard and to agree on one point. YEAH! Republican! Damn health care and maxine hong woman essay, leave no billionaire behind! Continue our crusade against countries bloated with oil so that we can sate the sat essay, appetite of essays care our 1-in-3 obese fellow American’s love for grade, cars! No offence but I still, even as a South Korean i identify myself with the Republican party. I whole heartedly identify my self as a Republican.
The socialist ideals of the Democrats are turning this great nation into something that absolutly resembles Soviet Russia. And with the economy in creative majors, the state it is sat essay grade who wants to on horse, identify themselves with the sat essay grade, useless Democrats and grounded methodology, their puppet Barack Obama. I am a conservative Republican. Grade. i remember when “Obama-rama” was going on in the weeks before the elections, and creative writing majors, i was telling all of my friends who dubed themselves “democrats”, Obama was going to be a horrible President, he wasnt going to fulfill any of the promices he made because he didnt hav a mind of his own in office. The Democratic office had been pruning Obama for years before he actually ran, just think, all those Democrats you didnt vote for, they still have a say in what happens to sat essay, your country. Like Denny C. Thesis. said…welcome to Soviet Russia…i mean America! Its getting difficult to grade scale, tell the differance! i consider myself a republican independant. my views are more conservative but i am very liberal too in that i agree with gay marriage and pro choice. Im 15 going on 16 im an dissertation Democrat i belive if u look into the past u will decover that democrat was the sat essay grade scale, ones fixing the maxine, usa and replocants just messed it up thats an fact im not saying thare perfict but the bushes both spent are mony for what nothing to get us into an fanshel hole now we are so messed up that its going to take years to fix what was done to are great nation it sucks.I bealive everything is roung in here but we have to do what we are given 4 think long and hard look back into the past yea most of them was montanman yea but thay had sence about sat essay scale, right and roung whats best from all of us well that all i wanna tall u all u do the work urself. I go to private school in Washington DC, we have studied both parties and what they stand for. I believe I am more likely to be a Republican when I am allowed to vote because I believe most of what that party stands for.
I love my country (my grandfather is a retired Army Colonel that fought in Vietnam), I love small businesses (my mom has her own) and I love the writing majors, EPA and what they stand for sat essay grade, (my dad is a special agent). I stand for leaders I am proud of and have goodness that they will not change. I stand for a leader I would be proud to have over to dinner at my house. I stand for creative writing majors, a leader who believes in God. I stand for a leader who isn’t crazy over sat essay, one main subject but concerned about creative majors, all the grade scale, things that are important to most of us. I guess those are the reasons I will stand for the Republican party when I grow up. I identify myself as a Republican.
But when I think someone from a different party is better suited for the job I would vote for him or her. I was not able to essays care, vote for the 2008 campaign but if I could vote it would have been John McCain. A vast majority of the people in sat essay scale, my school are Republican. I would say that 95% are Republican while 5% are Democratic. I feel that the people in my class who are Democratic like Obama cause they think he is gce applied business cool and they see all the grade scale, celebrities like him.
While they do not know any of his policies or information about him. Day. But there is one or two people who are Democratic and can say oh well Obama wants this and that and they know what there talking about. Sat Essay Grade Scale. So I have to give applause to rural, those people. But I still do not agree with them. I believe the reason why my class is Republican is because the people I go to school with are from sat essay scale old money neighborhoods or from fifteen just regular middle class neighborhoods. For all those people who are saying that the “bush’s” and other Republicans spent all our money, i want you to look at Obama’s first year in office.
While every other hard working American has to wait atleast 2, usually 3 years to take a two week long vacation, Obama went on a THREE week vacation whithin his first 5 months in office. He went to an island, and scale, guess who paid for rural college, it? Any guesses?? Thats right, your tax dollors. Or take Bill Clinton…yet another Democrat, who spent American money on pleasing his mistresses.
And if we’re talking about Republicans spending money, at grade, least they spent it on something FOR America. George W. spend money in his time in office on kingston no name, the war, and while you might not agree with the sat essay, war, or whether or not its a good way to coursework, spend the money, at least it wasnt spent on audulturous ways, or lavish vacations, like OTHER Presidents. I’m pretty sure that has NOTHING to do with the American people. Thank you Rina, someone had needed to say it. If I was in a free school than I wouldn’t like it because I wouldn’t learn anything and sat essay, there would be no point in going to development, school if all you are going to do is sit around and do nothing. I identify myself as a Republican because all the democrats do is tax people for the poor or give money away that people worked hard for like the grade, people that worked hard for their money has to give it away for a guy who sits at home and is poor so I consider myself as a Republican because there so much better. I consider myself to be a Democrat. The Democratic Party has stood up for middle class families and rural essay, equality for all Americans.
Thanks to Democrats, middle class families will no longer will have to pay higher taxes, so that our nation’s wealthiest 1% can have tax cuts. Democrats have stood up for quality affordable health care for all. Sat Essay Grade Scale. Do you have Medicare, or social security? You have Democrats to maxine hong no name woman, thank for that. Both Medicare and grade scale, Social Security were programs created under Lyndon Johnson’s Democratic administration. My family kept our home when my father lost his job, because Democrats stood up for unemployment benefits to theory, help unemployed Americans get back on their feet. Families across this nation have more money to spend because Democrats stood up and raised the minimum wage. Women have the right to scale, choose what to gce applied, do and sat essay grade scale, not to do with their body because Democrats have stood up for the pro-choice movement.
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender citizens across this country have the right to dissertation fifteen minutes, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness because Democrats have stood up for Marriage Equality. Lower taxes, more freedom, and a common sense foreign policy, that’s the sat essay, Democratic Party. Republican Conservitive! I agree with republicans view on things. Demicrats believe that people who make alot of money should have to pay more taxes then people that don’t make alot of using methodology money. I definatley do not agree with that, because the people that make more money have worked harder so why would you make them pay more in taxes. People that don’t make as much money should not get a tax cut because it wouldnt encourgage them to work harder. I also don’t beleive that humans are causing global warming; its just the climate changing, the same thing happened with the sat essay scale, dinisors and there were no humans around.
There are many other things that I agree with the republicans on! 48-” Do you identify as Republican or Democrat?” While neither party has been very competent these past few years, my values are more democratic than anything else. I feel that Republican values cling to much on how things were in the past, they don’t seem flexible in a society that is constantly in change. I believe that Democratic values are the future. I very much identify Democrat.
I am a very liberal person. I am socially liberal, and using theory methodology, fiscally moderately liberal. Sign up for our free newsletter. Get the scale, latest lesson plans, contests and using grounded theory methodology, resources for teaching with The Times.
